Have you sent your nominations for your favourite South African title published in 2006 for the SA Librarians' Book Choice Award? Was "The Whale Caller" by Zakes Mda your favourite adult read? Or Spud by Johan van de Ruit? What about the "Ghost that closed down the town" by Arthur Goldstuck? Agaat by Marlene van Niekerk? And childrens' titles? Which is your favourite South African children's title for 2006?
In celebration of LIASA's 10th Anniversary, LIASA has introduced a new annual award called the SA Librarians’ Book Choice Award. This award honours South African books that librarians consider the pick of the crop, their favourites, published during the year before.
Criteria:
* There are two categories - Adult and Children; titles can be either fiction or non-fiction.
* Books must be written in any of the official languages
* Must be written by a South Africa author
* Must have been published for the first time during 2006
You may nominate up to five titles in each category. The winning titles in each category will be those which receive the most nominations.
The winners will be announced on 17 August 2007 at LIASA’s Annual General Meeting in Durban.
Nominations close Friday 13 July 2007.

Anyone working in the LIS sector may nominate titles. But if you are a LIASA member, please include your membership number on your nomination form.
