Grants to attend the World Library & Information Congress 73rd IFLA
Conference, Durban

We take pleasure to announce the availability of grants for librarians
and library staff from Africa and South Africa to attend the 73rd IFLA
Conference in Durban from the 18-23 August 2007.
The grant will cover registration fees only.
Closing Date for applications: 16 July 2007
Criteria:
. Must be employed in a library or if unemployed, should have an LIS qualification;
. Application form must be supported by Head of Institution, acknowledging leave will be granted to the candidate for purposes of attending IFLA (employed librarians);
. Candidates will be expected to enter into an agreement with LIASA accepting the conditions of the grant and undertaking to refund all monies if he/she is not attending the Congress;
. Successful candidates must submit a written report to SWETS Information Services and LIASA by December 2007.
Documentation required:
. Signed application form
. Brief recent CV
. Certified copy of identity document
. Proof of employment (if applicable)
A person not providing all the required documentation will be
disqualified.
