2 x VACANCIES: Universal Knowledge Software

JOB TITLE: SYSTEM CONFIGURATION SPECIALIST: LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (UNICORN) x 2

Duties:

1. Use your current technical expertise to configure the library system to adhere to customer requirements.

2. Coordinate and provide customer training on the Unicorn Library Management System.

3. Coordinate and provide training to new staff on the Unicorn Library Management System.

4. Evaluation, testing and training in new versions and on new modules.

5. Act as First Line Support for customer queries and requests for assistance

- Handling queries on software frontline-support for customers / dealing with queries / high level maintenance

- QC software and data loads (maintenance and new installations) to ensure customer requirements are met

- Regular communication with customer regarding queries

Minimum requirements:

Degree or related qualification in Library and Information Science.

Knowledge of aids: Dewey, AACR2 and MARC21.

Three years' library experience.
Knowledge of and insight into library work processes.
Experience of a computerized library system.
Own Transport.

Recommended requirements:

Experience on the Unicorn Library Management System.
Computer and technical support knowledge.
Project management knowledge.
Unix and Windows experience.

Remuneration:
Salary will depend on relevant qualifications and experience.
