WCape LiSLIG AGM - 18 Sept at 14:00: "Change skills for a changing world"

The Western Cape LiSLIG (Special Libraries) Committee would like to invite you to the

LISLIG AGM - Christine Hermanson will be addressing us on "Change skills for a changing world"

Are you facing another restructuring?
Has your library shrunk/grown/moved/(fill in the blank) in the past few years?
Does your new boss want to completely change your job description?
Do you still remember what it means to be an actual "librarian"?
If any of the above applies to you, then this presentation is for you!

Christine has advised corporate clients on change management for the past nine years, inspiring many people to think creatively and welcome challenges as we adapt to a shifting global society, from a manufacturing-based economy, to one that is high-tech and knowledge-intensive. Alongside her career, she completed her PhD (business and psychology) in 2004, addressing how managers in the corporate environment can think more effectively about problem solving, decision-making, and conflict management in an ever-changing environment. She is passionate about supporting people to not only
embrace change, but to excel in today's complex economic climate.

A new committee will be elected at the AGM, so PLEASE volunteer to serve a term on the committee or nominate somebody (make sure the person is willing to stand). Only 2 of the current committee members are available for re-election, so we are desperate for nominations! Only paid-up members are allowed to vote according to the LiSLIG constitution, so please make sure that your membership fees are paid.

We will serve tea /coffee on arrival and the proceedings will begin at 14:30 sharp.
