Conference: Invitation to LIASA Fun Run/Walk
LIASA FUN RUN/WALK
17h30 Monday 6 October 2008
Adventure awaits you around every corner of this cityscape tour of
an historic Cape Town area
Tour the footpaths of academe –
see the mountain in an entirely different perspective –
feast your eyes on picturesque harbour views –
let your imagination take you through centuries of human endeavour –
let your sweat fall on the same cobblestones as your ancestors –
let the spirit(s) of the past carry you to the triumph of the present.
How could you not want to participate in this celebration of physical
prowess?
Enter now – or when you collect your conference packs – or at the startline –
But enter, enter, enter –
Do not ‘watch history in the making”
BE history,
Be part of our inspiring tradition of sweat, tears and blisters – all in
the name of glorious fun.
Medals to be won – fame to last a lifetime (or at least four days)
Come on!! Bring your takkies and a friend.
The camaraderie of group suffering must be experienced to be
appreciated.
Whether you walk or run, you will not be alone – breathless maybe, but
not alone.
Resistance is futile –
Join up now and go with the flow, uphill and downhill,
And uphill and downhill and ……….!

LIASA 10th Annual Conference -a unique opportunity for the Western Cape
The 10th Annual LIASA Conference will be held in Cape Town, from Tuesday 7 October to Friday 10 October 2008.
We hope that many will make use of the opportunity to attend the conference.
The Conference brings with it several additional development opportunities such as the pre and post conference workshops.
Several of the Interest Groups and standing committees will have pre-conference workshops on Monday the 6th of October 2008.
The Western Cape School and Youth Services Interest Group will have a post-conference on Saturday 11 October 2008.
None of these require conference registration. In other words, you may attend the pre- and post conference only!
If you are interested, go to the Conference pages at
http://www.liasa.org.za/conferences/conferences.php
The current Conference links are shaded in grey.
We hope that you will make use of these opportunities that hosting the conference brings in the Western Cape, brings to you.
Finally, there may be some evening events that you may wish to attend.
Watch the list serv for such announcements.
We hosted the LIASA Annual Conference in 1999. It may be several years before the Conference comes back to the Western Cape.
Don't miss out this time around. Find a way to be there!
Regards,
Fatima Darries
