Exciting News - LIASA Subsidized Professional Development Training to Start

LIASA has received sponsorships from two long standing partners to be able to offer subsidized professional development training to its members thus enabling them to continue serving the profession effectively, and so that LIASA fulfills its mandate of providing professional development opportunities to its members.

SABINET has very generously provided a training grant of R500 000 over the next three years for training in all LIASA branches and in the following three areas: Cataloguing, Interlibrary Loans and Management and Leadership.

Other exciting news are the revival of the CICD Project which is also meant to offer different types of subsidized training and development to only public and academic librarians. This project has been given a go ahead for implementation by Carnegie for two years. We are equally grateful that this grant, worth over R2 Million, will also enable LIASA to continue with its professional training and development objective for its members. The CICD Task Team will coordinate the series of workshops, training camps, Conferences, Pre-conference workshops etc. with other training providers.

More details to follow soon.
