Dr Deonie Botha is a part-time lecturer at the Department of Information Science at the University of Pretoria. She is involved in lecturing Information Science but specialises in Information and Knowledge Management, which she lectures on both pre- as well as postgraduate level.
She graduated from the University of Stellenbosch and obtained a MInf (Masters in Information Science) degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA). In 2002 she obtained a Diploma in Human Resource Management for which she received the Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Centre for Business Management at UNISA. She completed a variety of courses including courses in Competitive Intelligence from the University of Pretoria and the University of Johannesburg. She also completed a course in Sense- and Decision-making at the University of Pretoria as well as a workshop on the Cynefin framework for organizational sensemaking presented by Dave Snowden. Recently she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Pretoria. The theme of her Ph.D. was: The strategic training needs of large South African enterprises.
Dr Botha has participated in several local as well as international conferences and is involved in a variety of knowledge management projects for private companies.
The workshop is being offered as part of the Second Annual Knowledge, Archives and Records Management Conference which will take place from 6-8 May 2008 at The Ranch Protea Hotel, Polokwane, Limpopo, South Africa.
